Philippinen informationen:Die Republik der Philippinen liegt im westlichen Pazifischen Ozean und gehört zu Südostasien. Das Südchinesische Meer trennt die Inselgruppe von Vietnam im Westen, die Celebessee von Indonesien im Süden. Der Archipel bildet den fünftgrößten Inselstaat der Welt nach Indonesien, Madagaskar, Papua-Neuguinea und Japan.Die Philippinen bestehen aus 7.107 Inseln, von denen jedoch nur etwa 880 bewohnt sind. Lediglich elf Inseln haben eine Fläche von mehr als 2.500 km²; die größten sind Luzon, Mindanao, Samar, Negros, Mindoro, Panay und Palawan; nur 1.000 sind größer als 1 km². Der Archipel wird in drei Inselgruppen unterteilt: Luzon mit der Insel Luzon, die Visayas, unter anderem mit den Inseln Palawan, Negros, Cebu, Leyte, Samar, Masbate und Bohol und als dritte Gruppe Mindanao, unter anderem bestehend aus der Insel Mindanao, Basilan und dem Sulu-Archipel mit der Insel Jolo. |
